Huawei had another banner year in 2016 from a revenue growth perspective (revenue in USD increased 24.8% year-to-year to $78.4 billion), significantly outperforming the ICT market, especially in the company’s core Carrier segment, which contributed nearly 56% of total company revenue in the year. Much of this growth was due to strong spend by its key customers in China as well as continued market share gains from competitors stemming from Huawei’s aggressive pricing, improved product innovation and capitalization on the execution challenges of rivals such as Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC).
